The patented Rayosan™ technology by Clariant increases the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of fabric without changing the fabric's appearance, handle or breathability. We are excited to incorporate this technology into our Moby Wrap fabric. This specially treated fabric will offer an additional layer of sun protection for baby's sensitive skin, especially before the age recommended for sunscreen use.

Here's how it works:

Think of the Rayosan™ process as an invisible dye coating the fabric. It acts like a mirror, deflecting harmful UVA and UVB rays off the fabric. This invisible dye prevents the harmful rays from penetrating the fabric and harming baby’s delicate skin.

Although it is a chemical process, it was tested and passed the Oeko-Tex 100 certification process. This certification ensures us that the Rayosan process does not contain harmful substances. We share the Oeko-Tex commitment to your personal safety and supporting environmentally sound processes. You can be assured that the UV Protected Moby Wrap will not harm you or your child. UV Fuchsia Moby Wrap The dye is considered to be durable for the life of the garment. It is long-lasting, but will start to gradually wash out after approximately 30 washes. The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of durable fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders. It is amazingly comfortable and easy to wear. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners (that may break or bend). It is easy to adjust the fit of your Moby Wrap by varying how tightly you wrap yourself and baby. Moby Wraps are one size which means all caregivers can easily and comfortably share one wrap. In a Moby Wrap, baby is secured by three sections of fabric for triple wrapped security. A Moby Wrap’s one-way stretch cotton and wide width ensure that your baby is held close and tight. When sleeping, the back of your baby’s head can also be secured under the cotton fabric for added safety. You can finally have both hands free and know your baby is safe and secure. Each Moby Wrap comes with an easy to follow full-color instructional booklet containing wrapping instructions and safety information. Moby Wraps do not put a lot of extra material or bulky padding between you and your baby. Your baby can hear your heartbeat and find comfort in the warmth of your body within the cuddly confines of a Moby Wrap.

Moby Wraps are the optimal baby carrier for infants. Prewashing before use is recommended. The Moby Wrap is easy to clean. Machine wash your Moby Wrap in cold water and tumble dry low. As with all cotton items, slight shrinkage is expected during the first wash. Extra length is built into the design of each Moby Wrap to ensure a good fit after washing.

I live in a very warm climate. Can I use the Moby Wrap?

Yes, you can. Moby Wrap is made of 100% cotton and the natural fabric breathes keeping you cool in warmer climates. Wearing a baby in any carrier will create extra heat, so we recommend dressing yourself and your baby lightly and keeping exposure to high temperatures to a minimum whenever possible. Additionally we recommend wrapping baby in lighter shades including our Natural Moby Wrap (a creamy off-white), the Coconut Organic (100% organic cotton in an unbleached cream color) or one of our UV styles that offer SPF 50+ protection for delicate baby skin.

What We Think: Our favorite carrier for newborns. The wrapping looks hard, but it's quite simple especially if you look up a video on Youtube. Babies feel safe and swaddled up in the Mobywrap, and often go right to sleep in it!
